Mercy By Kick

Sivananda Sena managed the payment of tolls at different places. Maintaining everyone, he guided all the devotees in great happiness. Sivananda Sena took care of everyone and gave each devotee places to stay. He knew all the paths leading to Orissa from Navadvipa . One day when the party was being checked by a toll collector, the devotees were allowed to pass, and Sivananda Sena remained behind alone to pay the taxes. The party went into a village and waited beneath a tree because no one but Sivananda Sena could arrange for their residential quarters.

Nityananda Prabhu meanwhile became very hungry and upset. Because He had not yet obtained a suitable residence, He began calling Sivananda Sena ill names. "Sivananda Sena has not arranged for My residence," He complained, "and I am so hungry I could die. Because he has not come, I curse his three sons to die." Hearing this curse, Sivananda Sena's wife began to cry. Just then, Sivananda returned from the toll station. Crying, his wife informed him, "Lord Nityananda has cursed our sons to die because His quarters have not been provided." Sivananda Sena replied, "You crazy woman! Why are you needlessly crying? Let my three sons die for all the inconvenience we have caused Nityananda Prabhu."

After saying this, Sivananda Sena went to Nityananda Prabhu, who then stood up and kicked him.

Very pleased at being kicked, Sivananda Sena quickly arranged for a milkman's house to be the Lord's residence.  Sivananda Sena touched the lotus feet of Nityananda Prabhu and led Him to His residence. After giving the Lord His quarters, Sivananda Sena, being very pleased, spoke as follows:

"Today You have accepted me as Your servant and have properly punished me for my offense. My dear Lord, Your chastising me is Your causeless mercy. Who within the three worlds can understand Your real character?
  1. The dust of Your lotus feet is not attainable even by Lord Brahma, yet Your lotus feet have touched my wretched body.
  2. Today my birth, my family and my activities have all become successful.
  3. Today I have achieved the fulfillment of religious principles, economic development, satisfaction of the senses and ultimately devotional service to Lord Krsna."
When Lord Nityananda heard this, He was very happy. He rose and embraced Sivananda Sena in great love. Being very pleased by Nityananda Prabhu's behavior, Sivananda Sena began to arrange residential quarters for all the Vaisnavas, headed by Advaita Acarya.

One of Sri Nityananda Prabhu's characteristics is His contradictory nature.
When He becomes angry and kicks someone, it is actually to his benefit.

Lord Nityānanda diksha : pandarpur

It is described that Lord Nityananda, in His usual prankish mood, appeared to Lakshmipati in His original form as Lord Balarama, Krishna's brother. How he appeared to Lakshmipati was in a dream, telling him that a wandering Brahmin, in the form of an 'avadhuta', madman had arrived in town. "He will come to you. Initiate him into the Vaishnava 'diksha mantras' and accept him as your disciple." Then Lord Balarama spoke the 'mantra' into Lakshmipati's right ear and Lakshmipati awoke.

After a short time Lakshmipati saw the 'avadhuta Brahmin' and his mind became full with anxious anticipation. When they met, Lakshmipati couldn't take his eyes off the beautiful form of the Lord, His aura and His Moonlike face and unblinking eyes. Hearing the sweet words of Lord Nityananda, Lakshmipati's eyes brimmed over with swelling tears.

That very day Lakshmipati fulfilled the order of Lord Balarama, and Nityananda became the favourite of Lakshmipati

Enlightening Fallen Souls Jagai - Magai

http://vaniquotes.org/wiki/The_two_brothers_Jagai_and_Madhai_were_born_into_a_brahmana_family

Mahaprabhu asked Nityananda Prabhu and Haridasa Thakura to serve as His door-to-door preachers, spreading the message of love of God to every home in Navadvipa. It was at this point that Nityananda and Haridasa met the two brothers Jagai and Madhai. They were descendants of an illustrious priestly dynasty but had abandoned the pious ways of their forefathers for a life of debauchery.
When the two emissaries of Mahaprabhu's mercy first met them, Jagai and Madhai were in a drunken stupor, creating havoc throughout the village. Nityananda felt compassion on these fallen souls and reasoned that if they could be rectified, then Mahaprabhu's mission would become even more well received in Navadvipa. Approaching the two wayward brothers on the street, Nitai begged them to chant the holy name of Krishna and to taste the sweet nectar of Krishna consciousness. But the two villains just chased Nityananda down the road, shouting profanities and calling Him foul names. Madhai threw a broken clay pot that came crashing down on Nityananda's divine head, causing Him to bleed. (Although Nityananda's body is perfectly spiritual, He manifested this pastime so that Jagai and Madhai could attain liberation.)

When Mahaprabhu heard what had happened, He became infuriated and rushed to the area Himself. How could anyone harm a gentle soul like Nityananda? Summoning His divine disk-like weapon, which is flaming and radiant, Mahaprabhu was prepared to kill the two repellent brothers on the spot, forcing them to taste the wrath of God. His anger, however, was assuaged by Nityananda Prabhu, who reminded the Lord that the majority of people in this age are as fallen as Jagai and Madhai, and that it is His mission to liberate them with love, not violence. Hearing these words, Mahaprabhu was willing to forgive Jagai. But Madhai, who had perpetrated the evil deed, needed to be forgiven by Nityananda Prabhu Himself. Nityananda Prabhu's mercy knows no bounds, and He quickly forgave Madhai for all that he had done.

When Jagai and Madhai saw the loving exchange between Mahaprabhu and Nityananda and, observed Nityananda's forgiving nature toward them, their hearts were changed. They resolved to become devotees and enthusiastic supporters of Mahaprabhu's sankirtana mission. Seeing their sincerity, Mahaprabhu took all of their sins on His own head. For a few brief moments, His beautiful golden body turned an unsightly blackish color. Indeed, when Yamaraja's assistant Chitragupta tried to tally Jagai and Madhai's collective sins, he could not do so, and collapsed from exhaustion. After the incident with Nitai, however, Jagai and Madhai set the highest standard of devotional service by constantly chanting the holy names of Krishna and instructing others in devotion to Him.

Prabhupada: If one is true to Gaura-Nitāi’s service in the disciplic succession, he can even excel Nityānanda Prabhu’s service. This is the process of disciplic succession. Nityānanda Prabhu delivered Jagāi and Mādhāi, but a servant of Nityānanda Prabhu, by His grace, can deliver many thousands of Jagāis and Mādhāis. That is the special benediction of the disciplic succession. One who is situated in the disciplic succession can be understood by the result of his activities. This is always true as far as the activities of the Lord and His devotees are concerned.

Therefore Lord Śiva says: “Of all types of worship, worship of Lord Viṣṇu is best, and better than the worship of Lord Viṣṇu is the worship of His devotee, the Vaiṣṇava.” (Padma Purāṇa)

By the grace of Viṣṇu, a Vaiṣṇava can render better service than Viṣṇu; that is the special prerogative of a Vaiṣṇava. The Lord actually wants to see His servants work more gloriously than Himself. >>> Ref. VedaBase => Madhya 16.65
